Description: Beautifully engraved Bond certificate from the Canadian National Railway Company issued in 1977. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a trainman providing instructions to the train's engineer. This item has the printed signatures of the company's president/ceo and vice-president/secretary and is over 26 years old. These certificate are written in both English and French.
Certificate Vignette The Canadian National Railway Company was chartered in Canada in 1922. In 1923 the company acquired leases and control of Grand Truck into Portland, ME, and Central VT Railway. It was a government owned amalgamation of several companies including Intercolonial, Canadian Northern, Grand Trunk, Grand Trunk Pacific, and National Transcontinental. In the 1990's, it was renamed CN North America.
