Description: The pictures really don't do this piece justice. The combination of woods (Coromandel exterior and satinwood interior) compliment each other so well and the condiion of the writing box is just pristine. The burgandy leather writing surface is hand tooled with gold leaf. One side opens up to reveal the satinwood paper compartment. It also has two inkwells and a pen tray. The coromandel exterior is edged with brass and has a brass plaque bearing the inscription "T. W. Metcalfe" (The initals are underdebate as the writing is quite ornate...)
