Description:
This professionally taken cabinet photo shows a street vendor leaning on his wagon while an employee holds the wagon up. In the background a man holds a hammer in one hand & something else in the other hand. A young girl holds something puzzling in her hands that we cannot figure out.
Two of the people in the scene are black & four of the people have medium dark skin. The side of the wagon has several words lettered on it which we cannot fully read as some of the lettering is blocked by the wheel. Also, we would need to have it translated anyway if we could read it as it appears to be in Spanish.
The circa 1880's-1890's cabinet photo appears to have been taken in South America. But, we are not able to pin down a specific country, at this time. Possibly the photo was taken in Brazil. The back of the mount has some pencil marks that would probably easily come off. The precise condition of the photo is clearly shown in the pics. The size is 6 1/2" long by 4 1/4" tall.
