Description: A charming little piece of historical religious interest. He is missing his arms and some of his paint but still in good condition for his age and type. He has a lovely Gold Gilt body paint and a royal red Cope. Probably carved from pine in Germany (The Style is German) or maybe Southern France (I bought him in Provence) around 1700. The fixing for hanging is more recent. He might not be Jesus but possibly another Apostle maybe Peter or Luke. Overall a nice piece of Late Gothic European devotional carving.
