Description: A really super example of a Victorian brass Skirt Lifter, used to attach to the skirt hem and with the aide of chain lifting the skirt from the dirty Victorian streets. This one is particularly collectible with the delightful cast butterfly used to move down the handles to open and slid back up to clip into place securing the lifter to the fabric. Beautifully marked one side "Fyfe's Patent" and the other side "Registered Sept 21 1878. Wonderful polished condition and in full working order. Measuring 5 1/2" in length. Shipping and insurance are included.
