Description:
Genuine Bukhara ethnic earrings. Typically unmarked gold of a high carat, usually 22carat gold.
Exact date unknown, but probably first half of 20th century.
Measure approx 4cm / 1 1/2 inch in length, excluding the loop that goes through the ear.
Highly attractive design: a pair of the typical red stones found in these Bukharan earrings: one round on top and one elongated with a sharp point beneath it. Surrounded by rings of natural pearls set on a delicate gold backing. Holes punched in the perimeter of the backing contain loops from which a row of pearls hangs. The bottom row has a small turquoise bead (which may/not be natural turquoise), very typical of this kind of earring.
Loops go easilly through the ear and hold the earring comfortably.
Very good condition.
