Description:
This is an English Gothic Revival Welsh Dresser / Bar / Cocktail Cabinet. It was made in England. We purchased it in Oxford, England. It is made of Oak and has a rich, Deep Oak Patina. This piece has an unusual design which combines the style of Gothic Revival with the contemporary addition of a Cocktail Cabinet. This is a beautifully functional piece if you enjoy entertaining. It is in very good condition. The Welsh Dresser / Cocktail Cabinet has a striking, Tall Gallery at the back. There is a Deeply Pronounced Pediment across the top of the piece. The Gallery has a complex design with Double Astrigal Glazed Doors at the Right. The Doors are made in stained glass fashion with leading flowing between the glass panels to form a Diamond Pattern. The Doors open to reveal Two Custom Glass Shelves. Your fine china can be displayed here. On the left is an Open Display Area with Two Shelves. A Scalloping Apron flows across the top of the Display Area. The Second Shelf Scallops lushly along the front. A Spindled Plate Rail flows across the bottom of the Display Area. There is a Fall Front Door below. It opens to reveal the Cocktail Cabinet. Your liqueur and wine collection can be stored inside. The Drink Mixing Area is covered in Embossed Deep Red Leather. The bottom of the Cabinet has three long, beautifully paneled Gothic Doors. They are made in Sunken Panel Design with gorgeous moulding framing them. The Doors open to reveal a roomy Storage Area with a Shelf across the center. If you have a wine or liquer collection this spacious interior is perfect for storage. There is a Drawer behind the Center Door. It opens to reveal a compartmentalized interior for silverware. There is a Wavy Apron flowing across the bottom of the piece. The Hardware is original. This includes the Gothic Hinges, and Ornate Barley Twist Ring Pulls. If you enjoy collecting unusual pieces of furniture, this lovely English Welsh Dresser will be a fabulous addition to your collection. It is quite elegant and extremely functional.
