Description: To a fine architectural hard pine fireplace mantelpiece. The moulded shelf has three projections which agree with reeded tablets applied to the mantel frieze. Above the tablets is a rich course of moulded section. The end tablets have moulded capitals with large reeded pilasters applied to the legs or jambs. These are footed on shaped plinths. The mantel opening has a moulded trim section with a central breakout which supports the central frieze tablet. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, small repairs have been made and rich coat of green milk paint has been applied over a patina finish. The mantel has been reported to have been removed from a c.1790-1810 Bucks County, Pennsylvania manor house. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1622)
