Description: An Antique Brown Transferware Bowl circa 1870's. Beautiful exotic floral decorations and a raised design around the top and bottom of the bowl. Great form typical of the era! Condition is good with two thin hairline on opposite sides of the bowl. The damage is relatively minor considering the age. This transferware bowl would have been designed as a waste bowl for “spent” tea leaves. It measures approximately 5 1/8 inches in diameter by approximately 2 1/2 inches tall. This piece is marked Ironstone China, T.E.P.P. CO. with the English registry mark of a lion and unicorn to each side and a crown on the top. This Staffordshire Pottery from England is a charming piece of victorian transferware!
