Description: Beautifully detailed Mappin & Webb bronze medal, still in its original presentation case. The face is “Dover College Athletic Club” with heraldic shield. The rear has a laurel leaf around the engraved presentation area. Engraving reads “ 1912. A.V.A. Mercer. 1st. 1/2 Mile. (Under 16). 2 mins 27 secs.” Coin measures 45 mm diameter and 4 mm thick (1.3/4 inches by 3/16 inch). Excellent condition. Box is in very good condition - base under medal is blue velvet. Lid is lined with cream silk, bearing the name of Mappin & Webb and their address in gold lettering.
