Description:
This is a breathtakingly lovely French Bracket Clock. It is made of porcelain and brass. It is in very good condition. The Case was created in an opulent Urn Design. It is made in layers. The Domed Lid is green porcelain. The next tier which curves inward is made of brass. The body is green porcelain while the next tier which curves inward is brass. The fabulous Crown, Arms, Frame of the Clock Face, and Base with Pierced Feet are Ormolu. The Ormolu Mounts are flamboyant in design. They have a Flame and Floral Pattern. An Egg and Dart Pattern flows around the frieze below the Crest. Opulent Scroll Work frames the base. The Arms are attached with at each side with Floral Shaped Mounts. The Face of the Clock is Porcelain. It is finely painted with a floral and foliage design in violet and green. The Numerals and delicate Hands are painted black. The Face has two Winding Holes, one for the movement and one for the Bell which strikes the hour. At the rear of the Clock the Door is ornately framed by a scalloping Ormolu Mount. The Door is pierced in a floral design. A Mesh Screen can be seen through it. Opening the Door reveals the lovely movement. #10381 is stamped on the Movement, just left of the Bell. This is a fabulous French Bracket Clock. It has a unique design which is quite appealing. It was created to be viewed as a work of art. It will impact any interior design scheme with period opulence.
