Description:
~In the mid-1800s when oak furniture was just beginning to become popular, the dark woods (mahogany, walnut, and rosewood) were considered to be the "rich peoples' furniture". As American oak furniture ascended to first place in popularity in about 1880, the makers of this oak furniture also created a limited number of mahogany pieces that were identical to those that were made of oak. This stacking bookcase is possibly one of those items. ~~From its former home in the Midwest, comes this very fine Macey Stacking Bookcase With Leaded Glass Doors. Shown as "Macey 811" by the labels in each piece, the lovely hue of the mahogany exterior contrasts nicely with the yellow maple interior of these items. Use them in that "perfect spot" for books or to display a combination of collected items. This lovely piece has been refinished and is ready for your home. (It can be shipped via UPS or Greyhound for a nominal fee).
