Description:
As you can see from the photos, this book has some condition issues on the cover, but it is so hard to find that we closed one eye and decided to appreciate its intererior delights, as there are many.Book is big -- it measures 13" tall by 10" wide and has 104 packed pages, filled with photos of actual homes with their floor plans and descriptions, as well as interesting articles at the back about restoring old paintings, adapting your furniture to your house, the care and restoration of furniture, equipping the garage, closets, and more. Pages are clean and tightly bound and much fun to read. Book was edited by Reginald T. Townsend, who at the time, was editor of "Country" Life" magazine. The publisher was Doubleday Page. As stated, the cover is not perfect. It shows evidence of staining, as well as chipping to edges, especially corners which show carboard beneath outer paper. . But the paste-on picture of the house is lovely and without defect.
