Description: This is a sailor’s bodkin made of bone. It is 4” long by 5/8th” wide by ¼” thick. The hole is ¼” in diameter. A bodkin was used to run line through a fabric casing in sail, or bag, or clothes. Most probably 19th century. Worn smooth with use. Contact us with any questions. Thank you.
