Description: An incredible piece of folk art from Bolivia. This mask was used in Bolivian Carnivals in the 1950’s. It is pictured in the book “Visions des Pueblo” published by the American Folk Art Museum in New York City. It measures 10 ˝” x 9”. The mask is made from metal and painted in bright colors. There are large sequins pasted onto the face and fake fur on its head. It shows signs of wear including a few missing teeth plus a small split in the metal on the lower jaw. Overall, though, this is an exceptional piece of folk art that would make a great addition to a collection or a focal point in a living room or den.
