Description:
At the turn of the 20th century, Blick had factories in England and Stamford, CT. The oak case has been refinished and the copper recently re-electro-plated and lacquered. The clock had originally been a mechanical wind-up movement but was converted around 1925 at the Blick factory to an electric clock, retaining the same clock case and time card apparatus and serial numbers. This "timeless" treasure would need to have a DC converter (available at electrical suppl shops to convert from european to US current - or just add a quartz movement. This piece is very heavy as nearly everything inside is solid brass, the scars on the cover of the bell strike are no doubt the result of many thousands of punches over the years. Clock sold "as-is", clock movement not guarenteed but is believed to be good. Clock case and copper plating are extremely good.
