Description: Hammered sterling silver picture frame with thermometer. Brass thermometer with incised Fahrenheit levels set in frame to left of picture opening. Script monogram JBW in cartouche at bell-shaped top. Blue velvet covered easel back. Interior blue ribbed fabric backing. Marked on bottom edge: BLACK, STARR & FROST, "L" in ircle, STERLING, 2812HS. The "Black, Starr & Frost" name was used from 1876 until 1928 5" x 5"(12.7cm x 12.7cm) overall size, for 2.25" x 3.25" (8.3cm x 5.7cm) picture opening.
