Description:
Vintage black laquered oriental music box in fine condition, Stands at 4.5 inches tall and 8 1/4 inches wide. There are metal hardware to secure the top and the front has a detailed closure and must have had a key one time ago. The outside is painted shiny black with a hand painted outdoor scene of a pagoda and Mt Fuji and a bridge and trees, two boats and birds flying. On top there are mother of pearl inlayed around the top edge. Also painted in front on the side in gold paint and the colors are gold, red, blue and green. Inside is lined with red material and the top has a mirror and the bottom is painted shiny black also and has the music knob. In fine condition with a bit of paint comming off and a few of the mother of pearl inlay tips have fallen off. The music is very nice and soothing to hear, not sure of the name of the tune although it is very pleasing to the ear. A wonderfully hand painted music box and will be a nice addition to your music box collection. I ship by priority mail which takes 2 to 3 days.
