Description:
THIS IS THE END OF LOUIS FERAUD STOCK I'D ACQUIRED FROM EUROPE SEVERAL YEARS AGO. A sister piece to this creation is featured in my friend Kathy Flood's wonderful "Costume Jewelry Figurals," on page 106. Was fortunate enough several years back to be able to purchase a lot of breath-taking face brooches by Feraud. Said lot was unworn warehouse stock created by the artist for his own line in the 1980s.
This mind-boggling creation measures a most impressive 4" high x 2 1/4" at its widest point. Clasp is fully functioning.
~~Please be advised the goldtone metal is a richer, more buttery yellow than the way it photographed.~~
This lady figural is studded with loads of pave'-set, multicolored rhinestones. She is further enhanced by enameling, including intriguingly shaded purple lips. The profile of a bird's head nestles upon the top of her headgear. Signed "Louis Feraud/Bijoux" on the underside. This piece has a very Middle Eastern feeling and is in excellent condition. Purely and simply a knockout, and not for the faint of heart!
