Another scrumptious, utterly original piece by artisan Ellen E., whom I will allow to describe her creation in her own words:
"This necklace...features a seashell, to which I set an enameled, creamy white, jelly belly Heron Bird pin to.This bird brooch is from about the 60's . There are a couple of very small nicks to the enamel, that I felt did not detract from piece. I like to leave the vintage pieces original. The vintage [faux] pearls have a nice weight to them. This one took a bit more time because of the chains that I attached the pearls to. The chain is all vintage; I used varying sizes and made sure they work well color- and sizewise.This necklace measures an adjustable 17 1/2". The shell and bird drop measure 2 1/2" wide by 4" long."
Signed and dated on the back, this one's really a magnificent accessory, and my personal favorite by this particular artisan. It's a great collaboration between very gently used vintage components and a large unchipped shell, featuring only the "imperfections" created by nature.
