Description:
This is a series of 20 prints of etchings by distinguished American artists along with a Teacher's Manual prepared by Dr. Daniel C. Knowlton, New York University, for use with The Bicentennial Pageant of George Washington. This was published in 1932 by The George Washington Memorial Association, Inc. in New York City. The manual includes suggestive plans for the use of the etchings in teaching history, analysis of the etchings, and specimen lessons. The prints included are Washington and His Mother (which I have pictured), Washington, the Surveyor's Assistant, Washington on his Mission to the Ohio, Washington at Braddock's Defeat, Washington's Courtship, Washington at Pohick Church, EnRoute to the First Continental Congress, Washington Assumes Command, The British Evacuate Boston, The Retreat from Long Island, Washington at Valley Forge, Washington and Lee at Monmouth, The Surrender of Cornwallis, Washington Prevents a Military Distatorship, Washington's Farewell to his Officers, Washington, the Planter, The Constitutional Convention, New York Welcomes the President-Elect, Lady Washington's Levee, and Washington at Mount Vernon. The booklet and all prints are still in the original packaging and in excellent, unused condition. Suitable for framing and perfect to use in the school history class.
