Description: This is a most elegant tapestry from the turn of the century when opulence reigned. Well, at least for those who lavished their homes with great works of art. It is done in silk and wrapped thread in semi precious and precious metals-copper,gold and silver. There is an extreme use of these in the weaving. Condition.? Shows wear, especially to the inside field. The piece was for many years sitting on a grand piano, thus accounting for the wear to the metal threads. Is it still magnificent? I believe so.
