Offered here is a vintage antique 19th century Civl War music sheet; "Just Before the Battle", words and music by Geo. F. Root, arranged for guitar by G. Borg, Published by Root & Cady, Chicago, 1863. Sheet has light foxing and light stains at the top and bottom near the spine - from a previously bound volume - thus tiny chips along the spine. Sorry the photo is slightly blurry.
Just before the battle, Mother, I am thinking most of you.
While upon the field we're watching, with the enemy in view.
Comrades brave are 'round me lying, filled with thoughts of home and God;
For well they know that on the morrow, some will sleep beneath the sod.
