It is embellished with a gorgeous Pattern of Marquetry. It is made of Mahogany and has a rich, Deep Mahogany Patina. The Headboard and Foot board have finely formed, shaped Crests. Wide Stiles flow down the sides. The Center Panels spectacular. The grain of the Mahogany is laid out in a Chevron Pattern toward the center. This creates a Diamond Effect which surrounds an Oval created by Horizontal Mahogany Grain. Delicate Satinwood Marquetry Banding frames the Panels. In the middle of each Oval is a gorgeous Central Cartouche depicting a Garland of Bell Flowers and Ribbon with a Bouquet of Flowers hanging down from the center. A Horizontal Mahogany Stretcher connects the Legs below the Headboard. Below it is a Metal Rail which has the hardware at each side to connect the Bed Rails. The Metal Bed Rails come with Bed.They connect to the Foot board in a similar fashion. All of the necessary hardware is included. The Bed is supported upon Quadrangular Legs. This is a very fine English Victorian Bed. It's intricate Marquetry Work makes it quite collectible. The design is rich and beautifully executed.
