Description:
A fabulous really old VICTORIAN BEAVER SKIN TOP HAT. The Beaver Skin is in excellent condition as is the doe or pig skin inner band. The silk lining is somewhat fragile with some splitting and wear as per the photo. The Maker HB---Thos Townsend & Co of Lime Street, LONDON was established in 1778 according to the monogram inside the crown. The internal head measurements are 7 1/2" in length and 6" in width. I date this as Circa 1880.
