Description: Victorian ladies were taught needlework to show their refinement and suitability for marriage. Kits were available with the yarns and beads for various projects. This tea pot stand is a fine example of a victorian ladies' needlework skill. This is a very unusual teapot stand has a deep red and green needle work pattern with grey, black, and white bead work throughout. It is on a wooden base that was painted gold and measures 22 inches x 11.5 inches. The yarn is worn and some of the beading is missing, but as it dates from about 1860 this is hardly surprising! The stand itself are has been repaired as shown in the pictures. Very Rare! Teapot not included in sale.
