Description: Barbizon School of Narcissus Diaz del la Pena. oil on Canvas laid down. Loss of paint to edges and bottom edge of canvas. Showing indistinct partial letters or intials or part of signature lower right corner with repairs to edge of canvas. Painting over all appears to be in excellent condition except due to the age of the canvas edges have had repairs and frayed at stretcher bars and has been laid down on canvas. Circa 1850-70. As this is an unsigned canvas, with no visible signature; no specic attribution as to the artist is implied. Simply put, it is a painting in the style of the French Barbizon School circa 1840-1870 which was begun by the work of Diaz. A beautiful large example of the Forrests of Fountainbleu.
