Three drawer Italian bombe chest early 1900's is made of very fine grained oak much resembling walnut in color as well,no large grain or coloring of typical newer oak.Wonderful patina and richness to the hand rubbed finish. An abundance of raised carving in panels front and flared sides with mitered corners and additional carving. Open work oyster motif center bottom as well as other interesting bits of detailed carving throughout. Tiny brass knobs on top shallow drawer and brass rectangular pulls on the two deeper drawers. Perfect size to use as a side table and chest beside bed or sofa as well as a stand alone piece. Excellent condition,few minute flecks of white paint on top easily removable where someone painted a surrounding wall in previous years. Exaggerated in photo. Measures 27.5H X 11.5D X 23L.
