Description: This is a fabulous Aynsley China, England cup and saucer commemorating the opening of the St Lawrence Seaway, Canada by Queen Elizabeth II in 1959. This rarely seen royal commemorative cup and saucer features a sepia photo of Queen Elizabeth II in the bottom the the reeded pedestal cup with dedication around the outside. Both the bone china cup and saucer have a hand colored band featuring flowers or plants representing the nations of the United Kingdom with heavy burnished gold. The cup is 2.25 inches high, the saucer is 5.5 in diameter and both pieces are in excellent, mint condition with no chips, cracks or wear. A very collectible as well as decorative Canadian and Royal memorabilia item from a great maker.
