Description: Beyond ordinary is this Museum quality Louis Vuitton VIP Poupée / Doll. From a private collection and in beautiful condition as though never removed from the box, treasured and coveted for many years and never offered to the general public until now. This little Poupee was manufactured by a doll company for Louis Vuitton as a special VIP gift and would have been given as a VIP gift to customers in the 1930s if they has placed a large order, say a trunk. The Poupée wears an elaborate handmade costume and it is all embellished with metallic borders, pierced sequence, beads and lace. The dolls wears a wonderful hat made of black velvet and also decorated with floral beads and she wears a gold metal cross around her neck. The elaborate costume still bears the original Louis Vuitton hand sewn label to the underside as shown, and the front has the original paper label sewn in which reads : "Franche Comite". The dolls head is made of bisque and entirely hand painted, including each eyelash and all to the finest detail. The tiny hands, legs and feet are all made of papier-mâché or composition material and all present and intact.The Poupée comes in the original Louis Vuitton box and still has the original label on the box as shown. * Size: The Poupée is approximately 5" tall. * Condition: in perfect condition; all feet hands and fingers present. One of the most historically interesting items I have ever come across by Louis Vuitton. I have spent countless hours researching these dolls (we have three) and they are no where to be found. It is truly a privilege to be their keeper, even if for a short time. All three sold together, we will not sell separately.
