AURORA WATCH Co. NEW MODEL 15j ADJUSTED 3oz. SILVER Circa: 1884. Made for Railroad Service and marketed by an Illinois Jeweler; "Will R. Johnson" located in Rock Island, Illinois. Aurora Watch Co. was organized in mid-1883 with the goal of getting one jeweler in every town to handle Aurora watches. The first movements were 18 size, full plate, and were first sold in the fall of 1884. The Hamilton Watch Co. purchased the company June 19th, 1890. This "New Model" was produced in the fall of 1884 for Railroad Service with 15 jewels and Adjusted. This example is partically clean, and cased in a nice 3oz. Coin Silver plain polished case. Clean, running and especially collectible. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Signed with the Rock Island Jewler on a single sunken white porcelain dial. Special order dial by this jewler through the Aurora Watch Co. Factory. A couple of short hairlines exist at very bottom on the lever set area.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, hunting model, lever set, Full plate gilt, "15 Jewels", "ADJUSTED", "Aurora Watch Co.", #35,064. Truly excellent condition, free of any blemish, scratches or distraction.
CASE: .800 Coin Silver 3oz. double hinged back and bezel plain polished with the original hard rock beveled crystal. Nice case signed: "CHICAGO/ Coin"
