by the premier silhouette artist Auguste Edouart. They
were made during his
travels in America between 1839 and 1844. Each is
shown mounted on a
pen and wash background with annotations by the
artist. A modern biographical
sketch of each person is included. They represent one
surviving album from
his American travels. This book should be of interest in
collectors of silhouettes
