Description: Cornelius Figural Astral Lamp. Here is a stunning beauty. The stately figural bronze astral lamp made in the middle 1880’s by Cornelius of Philadelphia. Similar examples with the same figure can be found in the book of 19th Century Lighting. The lamp is now fitted for electricity. It measures 18”h to the top of the shade ring and 32”h to the very top of the chimney. It is a stunning lamp. The surface patina is rich and mellow and untouched. The shade is deeply cut in a fabulous design. The prisms also have the cut flowers in them.
