Description:
Inspired by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh this early 20th century Green & Red Antique Stained Glass Window is simple, understated; classic Arts & Crafts style. The Arts & Crafts design is carried through with the subdued shade of green and vibrant ruby red squares, along with the clear glass bands that form the straight-line style of the Arts & Crafts movement. And the design is such that it can hang in either direction. Translucent glass of a different texture surrounds the colored glass, allowing plenty of light to shine through while still maintaining a sense of privacy. This lovely antique stained glass window measures approximately 14.00"" H X 18.50"" W X 02.00" D, including the original wooden frame. This piece of architectural art is a by- product of urban renewal in Great Britain. Older buildings are being demolished or restored so the magnificent windows that once graced these homes are either being removed or replaced with newer more energy efficient windows. This vintage glass piece is in pristine condition, void of any chips or cracks, hand leaded with the lead complete, structurally sound, and in its original wooden frame with antique paint still on it.
