This is another beautiful item,
Antique English Victorian A&C Mission Transitional to Art Nouveau Swan-Neck Spout Teakettle, in Solid Repousse Copper w/ Turned Ebonized Wood Handle, Dating to c.1890..!
This is a magnificent piece.
Of solid repousse copper with a foliate leaves and berries or grapevine high-relief design, it features a brass beehive finial to the cover or lid and a turned and ebonized wood handle.
That handle is supported by brass arms that are riveted to the copper body.
It has an age-old washered repair to the base that has begun to corrode but, far from being a flaw, it is part of its rich history, harking back to the days when kettles were repaired, not thrown out and replaced by a Chinese one from Wal-Mart.
Excluding the handle and its supports, the body of the kettle measures 6" high by 5 1/2" diameter.
It is sold as being
Not for Food Use - For Decorative Use Only.
This is a genuine antique Victorian kettle -
it is NOT a reproduction!
