Description: More pics. available. This is from a private estate. A fabulous Tall vase, 7" deep from the top under which is an open Grotto with two figures wrapped in skins,(Lohan, Buddhist monks?) one sitting, one standing, both gazing into a reflecting pool. The whole piece is molded from red earthenware and painted black then slip glazed with a Black, Grey and White slip that was allowed to run down the sides. An Amazing piece of art. Provenance supplied by the family.
