Description: This is an exceptional piece of Art Deco period folk art. It was done by an unknown Ojai, California artist and is an estate purchase. It is most unusual in that it depicts the body of a man in the act of cutting himeslf out of a block of wood. He has completed the torso. He has an upraised arm with a hammer in one hand and a chisel in the other. It is very well executed and in marvelous condition. His body is beautiful and his face is determined.
