Description:
Leon Dupin produced many lasting images for the Rita company, and this magnificent merchandising piece by Dupin winks at those other works. This Rita man is 'carrying' a box of cookies - the ingenious point of sale piece arrives flat and is easily assembled to memorable effect. Piece measures roughly 14 x 10 inches when assembled. Leon Dupin, (1898-1971) was a French artist who was also a photographer. In 1934 at the time of a contest organized by the Seita, Dupin’s project for the Celtique cigarettes was accepted. He worked with the printing house of Joseph-Charles until 1936. He became the first poster artist at Prot Brothers, and in 1936 he declined a proposal to go to work in the USA for Walt Disney because he would have had to leave France and learn English. Dufo7/$80 .
