Description: We are pleased to offer a pewter chager with the armorial trappings of a family named Gunther. The shield surmounted by a helm exhibits a lion rampant, the crest to the top of the helm is the head and upper body of a lion. Heavily engraved with a castele to the background of the crest and heavy engraving around the exterior of the armorial bearings. As we do not possess a book on continental pewter our identification and dating is based on information received by others. This has a stag in shield, a lion rampant in shield and another shield, partly rubbed, with Ein and other letters.
