Description:
This is a gorgeous English Art Deco Armoire. We purchased it in Bath, England. The Armoire is made of Oak, and has a rich Medium Oak Patina. It is in good condition. The Armoire has a gorgeous Double Domed Bonnet Cornice which is created by the Domed Doors. It is made with a Double Door Design. The Doors are embellished with a gorgeous Bookmarked Parquetry Pattern. A Central Medallion of Scroll Work Carving embellishes the center of the Doors. Scrolls Work is also carved into the top of the Stiles which flank the Doors. The Doors open to reveal a beautifully fitted interior. Four Compartments are fitted into the Right Hand Side of the Armoire. They are each charmingly labeled (Shirts, Underwear, Sportswear, Sundries). The Left Hand Side has a Large Open Compartment with a Clothing Rail fitted into the top. The Rail flows from front to back. It has a unique mechanism which allows you to draw your clothing forward to be easily viewed. This piece has all of its original Art Deco Hardware, including, delicately formed Pierced Knobs that form an integral component of the overall design, and a Lock with Skeleton Key.
