This fabulous Tus water basket is in excellent condition considering the age. The basket does lean to one side, but if you were this old you would lean to. The basket was reportedly recovered from a cave in New Mexico. The pitch coating is 90% intact. The base of the tus has damage and is presumed to have been caused by sitting on the floor of a cave for over 150 years. This basket is reportedly between 150 and 200 years old. It has excellent patina over all.
The basket is made entirely out of Willow and coated with Pinion Pine pitch or gum. These basket were coated with pitch not only to make them water tight but the pine pitch would also give the water a sweet taste.
A certifacate of authenticity will be provided for this item at no extra cost.
Terms of sale and return.
1) We give a full 14 day inspection and return for a refund if found not to be authentic as described on all Native American artifacts we sell, and a 3 day inspection on all other items.
2) Item must be received back in the same condition as sent prior to any refund being issued. Refund will be less S/H/I. If the item is received back damaged no refund will be given and a claim for the damages must be filed. If a claim is not filed with in 1 business day after it is received back or arrangements are made the item will be returned to the buyer postage due. WE ARE HAPPY TO MAKE A REFUND FOR ANY ITEM WE SELL IF FOUND NOT AUTHENTIC AS LONG AS IT IS RECEIVED BACK UNDAMAGED, UNLIKE A BASKET TRAY THAT WAS SOLD TO A SHYSTER IN ARIZONA, WHO OVER INSURED THE ITEM WHEN RETURNING THE ITEM AND THEN GOT COLD FEET AND WOULD NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE CLAIM AFTER IT WAS RETURNED DAMAGED. We make every effort to package the items we sell so they are not damaged during transit, and if any item is returned it must be package the same way. We recomend that it be done by a professional packager.
3) Payment is due with in 5 days of purchase date. Buyer must email us with shipping information with in 24 hours of purchase. Payment made with postal M/O item shipped the next business day after payment has been received. Personal and bank checks are gladly excepted but must clear bank prior to item being shipped.
4) This item will be shipped priority mail and will be insured. Insurance will be based on $1.50 per $100.00 of value. Shipping and handling for this item is $20.00.
