Description:
Produced by APOLLO, circa 1920s this ornate topaz yellow enamel dresser set consists of a 13 inch long x 4 1/2 inch oval hand mirror with beveled glass, a 9 1/2 inch long x 4 inch oval hair brush, with natural bristles and a 4 1/2 inch round powder jar. Each piece is adorned with a different 1 1/2 inch round Victorian Lady portrait under celluloid. The enamel backs are rimmed with braiding and the handles are beautifully sculpted. They are stamped [except the powder jar] APOLLO. There is hardly any tarnishing or any damage but the enamel on the powder jar is worn in a few places and the enamel on the other pieces needs cleaning. Other the the aforementioned they are in excellent condition - This is a good and very old APOLLO vanity set.
