Description: This cheerful old Clown Cookie Jar was made by the Ohio-based American Pottery Co. (APCO).The company produced a delightful range of cookie jars between 1942 and 1965.Prior to that period, it was known as the Stoin-Lee Pottery Co., and it also had close ties with the American Bisque Co.(ABCO),so that many of their cookie jars designs were shared.
This is one of the original APCO clowns, and although it has lost a fair amount of it's cold paint, it is in really good condition. The bottom bears the marking: 'Design Patent 137119 APCO'
