Description: This wonderful Yoruba, beaded headdress appears to date to around the turn of the last century. Some of the beads appear to be even older. The headdress stands 28 inches in overall height and the base measures 12 inches in diameter. There are five people and one horse (or possibly some other animal)depicted in all over beadwork. There are three round faces on the sides of the base section. The inside is lined with what appears to be velvet over cotton. Condition is very good. There is very little bead loss and the colors are still vivid. There is some staining to the light blue beaded background on the base.
