Description:
4.75" high x 3" wide x 2.75" deep A very attractive vitrine most likely purchased in France c1860 - 1880. Meant to hold a pocket watch while its owner was sleeping it will now serve to hold a treasured brooch or chandelier earrings. The beveled glass is extra thick which creates a look of luxury & substance. The condition is good overall but there are minor issues. The deeply tufted interior has a lovey unevenly faded appearance with some of the fabric pulling apart, although it is all there. The right side glass panel has some very minor nibbles at its top. Other than that all is perfect. The latch works as does the hinge. All feet are intact. Tin backing & bottom. No missing brass "teeth"....
