Description:
This is a very exciting doorbell - it is from the Victorian era 1860. It is a wonderful bronze bell that would screw on to the door with a handle that goes through that would be turned. The handle is in a nice casted bronze with a nice decoration and a porcelain knob. It works on a simple bell mechanism – as you turn it the two clappers inside the bell hit the bronze and it lets you know someone is at your front door. On the front you can see that it is all embossed reading – Taylor’s Patent Oct 23 1860. It is in good working order. The bell itself measures 2 ˝” at highest with a 5 1/8” overall diameter. It is quite unique to find a door bell like this these days. It is a great one. Perfect to complete your architectural Victorian front door renovation project with complete authenticity!
