Description:
This beautiful antique mahogany bowfront chest of drawers was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890 and recently hand restored in England by a master craftsman. The mahogany displays a fine, rich grain and lustrous complexion, which the rosewood banding around the top accents quite wonderfully. Solid brass hardware also forms a nice contrast with the wood. Because this chest is over a century old, it has had time to develop a lovely patina, which enriches the mahogany's distinct grain and complexion, which should only continue to grow more beautiful with time. A classic two-over-three drawer design offers plenty of storage space, with each drawer featuring hand-cut dovetailed joints. Sturdy turned feet provide strong support. The chest has sustained some minor surface wear consistent with age, particularly on the top corners, and the drawers also operate with some difficulty. The perfect combination of antique charm and modern functionality, this dresser would make a fantastic addition to any home--so bid today!
