Description:
This cake basket has an oval hour-glass shaped rounded form onto an oval swept pedestal foot. The basket has embossed fluted decoration to a diamond shaped vacant cartouche in the centre well. There is gadroon decoration to the basket rim and border of the basket foot. The basket is fitted with a hallmarked pierced and bright cut engraved decorated swing handle with a central oval vacant cartouche. The basket is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the baody, and part hallmarks, as expected, to the handle, are all very clear. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this item.
