Description: Pair of earrings in opals and white saphires. Gold screw-on setting. Made late 19th - early 20th century. Diameter is approx 1/4 inch. Flower-form earring. Center has a round, cushion-like (not quite cabochon) fiery opal that catches and plays with the light beautifully. It is surrounded by a ring of white saphires - also great play of light. The earrings are set in a wonderful old gold (unmarked, as is most Victorian jewelry) mounts. Beautiful openwork backs and the little dials to screw the earring closed are in the form of a flower. (see 'photos). Wonderful quality. Condition is good - no damage/loss.
