Description:
Antique Treenware Round Storage or Trinket Box This very interesting piece of treenware was part of my collection that I am now selling. I have enjoyed looking it for many years, but now is the time to pass it on to others.
This piece came to me from England. It appears to have been made in two pieces and joined together. The wide area around the center of the box is a strip showing an interesting grain. It is set off by beading on the top and bottom. The lid has a well turned top with the same beading around the base that is repeated further out on the lid. It sets over a lip around the top of the base.
The box measures 5-1/2 inches in diameter and approximately 8-1/2 inches high.
The box is in very good vintage condition, with a couple of very small chips around the base. There is a small age crack on the lid and the base, and a hole that looks like it was a knot.
It is a stunning to look at piece of treen, and would make a great start or an addition to a treenware collection.
